Keep It Low

Keep your dribble low. The lower you keep your dribble the less likely a defender will steal it from you. The longer the ball is in the air, the more time the defender has to steal the ball. A good rule to use during the game is to always dribble lower than your defender, especially when driving to the basket.

In addition to dribbling low, dribble hard. Always dribble as hard as you can as much as you can. Just like dribbling low, dribbling hard will give the defender less time to steal the ball. Dribbling hard will also make your handles quicker so that you can go by your defender faster.
